In August 1971 I accepted Jesus as my Savior and my heart was changed to help those around me who struggled with substance abuse or deep personal issues in their lives. Those desires in me deepened when I accepted Jesus as Lord over my life during the most trying times in my life in 1986. I had to deal with separation from my children, divorce, unemployment, and homelessness, sleeping in my car all at the same time. I had no hope for tomorrow and no desire to live.

Joel 1:4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpillar eaten.

When I gave up my will to live life my way, I met Jesus in person on a bridge in Charleston, WV.

Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. God supernaturally healed and restored my life by His love, by His word, and by His Spirit. My family buried my nephew, who was murdered, mother, father, four (4) brothers, and a niece from September 20, 2003 to September 17, 2008. God's love, His word, and His Spirit made us stronger as a family and individually.

"Celebrate Recovery" by Rick Warren and "Life's Healing Choices" by John Baker have been perfect aids for me as I overcome the hurts, habits and hang ups that I have experienced in my life.
